Project Positivity – Think Positive™ with Nerissa Figueroa

In this interview I sit down with Nerissa Figueroa, WBFF Fit-Pro and someone I’m glad to call a new friend. I met Nerissa at a networking event for statewide magazine, NSIDE. Someone told me that I should get her on my blog because she’s always positive and constantly posting positive things on her Facebook page. The first thing I did was send her a friend request on Facebook (not a stalker move at all, right?) and then when I saw her on a Tuesday event, I approached her and introduced myself. Although we had not met in person, she was very kind and down to earth and was very open to letting us know what she does to think positive thoughts on a regular basis. When her schedule allowed, we sat down and chatted about how she stays positive and only posts positive things online. When I thought about it, it’s easy for people to say they are positive, but one look at the things that they share online, and you see the ones that are walking the walk. Nerissa has two very beautiful well behaved kids and I am certain she’s a great mom. I think a lot of how she stays positive is what she does for a living. She’s a fitness coach, so naturally she demands more of herself. If you’re interested in how she can help you get fit an positive, please contact her via email or on her Facebook page.

I love the quote by Warren Buffett that says “the chains of habit are too light to be felt, until they are too heavy to be broken.”  If we are dealing with negativity from our environment, we need to change it, before it changes us. Our habits are the road map to our future, and sometimes they sneak up on us and we don’t realize that it is a part of our daily routine. I suggest reading as many good positive things that you can, in the way of quotes and books. Books like The Power of Positive ThinkingThink and Grow RichThree Feet from Gold, and a number of other inspirational and motivating books.  Immersing yourself in ways to think positive thoughts and do positive things is the key to a happy life. Whatever you want to be or become, chances are high that someone that has already done it and become successful has written a book about it.  Read that book!  I love the saying “leaders are readers” because it reminds me that I need to continue to read more and more every day.

If you know of anyone that should be recognized for their positive attitude, please contact me so that we can keep this positive vibe spreading.  And get some Positive Pins™ to wear or share!
